PRIMARY TYPE
Real Head Pro
Northeastern’s primary typeface is Real Head Pro, an all-purpose typeface that includes a range of weights that work in any environment.
ALTERNATIVE TYPE
Lato
Northeastern’s alternative typeface is Lato. It’s one of the most versatile, unique font families for digital applications. It should only be used where Real Head Pro is unavailable.
Compatibility
Typefaces are designed to work on both Macs and PCs. Each typeface can be loaded onto a single computer. Loading a typeface onto multiple computers is a violation of the university’s vendor agreement.
Font Licenses
Freelancers, outside contractors, advertising agencies, and other suppliers are independent entities, and each needs their own font license.
Real Head Pro
Northeastern employees can register for a license to be used with desktop applications from Reprographics for university projects. Alternatively, this font can be accessed via Adobe Creative Suite.
Lato
Lato is an open source font and available for free. It can be downloaded from Google Fonts for use in Microsoft applications.
