Advertising and Sponsorship

Northeastern-sponsored advertising and media plans should be developed in consultation with the university’s Marketing team in the Office of External Affairs. All plans must be reviewed by Marketing before the plan is finalized. Please submit advertising and media plans to [email protected] at least two weeks prior to finalization.

All creative concepts must conform to the university’s standards for branding, design, and messaging and are subject to review. Please submit creative concepts to [email protected] at least two weeks prior to their going into market.

As an institution of higher learning and a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, we also must carefully evaluate how and where the Northeastern brand appears. Any advertising produced by the university construed as objectionable is strictly prohibited.

Equally important, the programming, content, and values of the organizations we sponsor or where we run advertising—print, online, radio, and TV—should also reflect the university’s values.

Types of objectionable elements or content include, but are not limited to:

  • Discrimination (either overt or by omission) on the basis of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, national origin, gender, disability, or age
  • Profanity, obscenity, lewdness or any suggestions thereof
  • Alcoholic beverages, marijuana, and tobacco products in name, likeness, or implication

The university reserves the right to be the sole judge of appropriate advertising content produced by the university, as well as the integrity of the programs and platforms on which our advertising appears.


The Northeastern University Sign Shop creates a variety of signage located throughout the campus, from Braille number plates on offices to signs on Krentzman Quad to plaques identifying buildings. Printed Materials

To order printed materials, Northeastern faculty and staff are required to seek bids from preferred vendors. For a list of preferred print vendors, please contact the Procurement Services at 617.373.2135.
